John Cornwell, CEO and Founder of Bioelectronic Health, is a 25+ year biotechnology, applied sciences and informatics veteran. He recently left the Venture team at SRI International to lead a start-up in the burgeoning field of bioelectronic health, sometimes referred to as “electroceuticals”. Prior to that, John was an R&D and strategic business development leader as COO/VP Product & Business Development at Vaxart and earlier as head of R&D Operations at Cell Genesys, following his post at Genentech. He has been an advisor, board member and investor to numerous life science companies. As a Silicon Valley native, he implicitly understands the dynamic ecosystem here and the essential components for success. Moreover, he appreciates the intersection of science, engineering, and business, and the ever-present need to apply leading edge technology to advance human health. John received a BS in Medical Biophysics and MBA from UC Berkeley and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University. For fun, John enjoys spending time with his two young children, traveling to exotic destinations, tinkering with virtually everything and piloting small aircraft.
