Morning Keynote: Common Good

We will discuss how to best serve communities in crisis. Kiran is a native of Kathmandu Nepal, a county reeling from a devastating earthquake, several aftershocks, and another earthquake. Nepal relies on countries around the world to not only rescue people but to also find a way to rebuild its infrastructure.
Recently several African countries dealt with Ebola crisis resulting in tremendous human sufferings and economic distress, but the event is not isolated, the virus quickly arrived on our own shores. Local, state and national health organizations face an incredible burden in planning budgets while making room for unexpected disasters.
We will also talk about the importance of reducing healthcare costs in local communities, especially under-served communities, and ways in which we can empower patients and communities to best advocate for their own health.
