Loneliness & Social Isolation
Globally, social isolation and loneliness are a focus of research, particularly within the elderly community. While the two concepts are often used interchangeably, social isolation arises when a person does not have enough people to interact with, while loneliness is the distress experienced by not having enough social relationships or contact, with people.
